Therapy
What happens during therapy?
-
The first session is free and usually lasts around 30 minutes. This is an opportunity for you to explore what you would like to achieve from therapy and for us to assess whether we would be able to work together. The session will also involve discussing confidentiality and other ethical guidelines I adhere to as a member of the BACP.
-
Sessions are online via zoom. Each session lasts 50 minutes and costs £45. Concessions are available.
In session you decide what you would like to focus on. While the therapy is non-directive, I can offer psycho-education and mindfulness techniques to help support the process where appropriate. The sessions will be driven by you and your needs.
I also offer ‘walk and talk’ therapy as an alternative to zoom. Please get in touch if this is something that appeals to you.

I can help with a variety of emotional problems. I have worked within two different counselling agencies; CSASS - a charity which helps those who have experienced sexual violence and Healthbox, a service that provides free counselling through GP referrals.
I have experience of working with clients of different ages, genders and cultures. I have worked with clients who wanted to explore anxiety, low mood, bereavement, work-place stress, parenting and relationship difficulties, rape and childhood sexual abuse.
People come to counselling for a variety of reasons and we can discuss in our first session whether I feel I would be able to help you. If I feel you would be more suited to another type of counselling or another service I will be able to offer recommendations.
